Dear Maria, Dalia, Tarek, and Bumble Bees staff,

We don’t have enough words to thank you for everything you have done with our son in the last three years, that is to say for the biggest part of his life. For us as parents, for three years, from the moment we dropped him off I the morning up to the moment we picked him up at 17:59 we never had any worry. Because we were sure we could 100% trust you and that our son would always have been treated with attention, care, and love. For us as parents, it has been the most important thing! Best of luck

(This is an email that was sent to the Ealing Early Start SEND and Inclusion Manager by one of our parent/carers and the family were happy for us to share it here).

Just wanted to say that my daughter has nearly finished her first week ‘settling in’ at Bumblebees. She is so excited to see Ravi from the baby room every day; we have had minimal tears when leaving her and she is clearly so loved by them already.

The staff have had initial training for her feeds by the community nurses, and my partner and I have been training them on our child's specific feed regime etc-Ravi in the baby room has been disconnecting her feed all by herself/us not even present for it today which was a HUGE step. Next week we will focus on setting up the feeds which is more challenging but will take it slowly with them. My partner will lead on this as luckily is off until the end of the month!

I was just thinking how incredible they have been- and obviously we will keep offering our thanks etc to them, but is there any way of recognising them more formally within the borough? They have set an example all nurseries should aim for.  The fact that they were not only willing to take on a child with complex feeding needs, but have done it with such kindness and acceptance, and also keenness as well; keen to learn; manage risk etc, and give our child the same opportunities as the other children. It is a huge ask for people who aren’t used to a  medical setting to suddenly be drawing up meds and using syringes to flush gastrostomies etc and I don’t think that should go unrecognised. They are a wonderful example of outstanding practice.
